Memorex 1622 Problems

Many of the problems you encounter with the Memorex 1622 can be solved by making sure that you have up to date firmware.  For the Memorex 1622, you'll need to make sure you've got version d4.0.    Some people have reported better success using NT1 instead of other programs like CDRWin, but I have personal experience with the 1622, and know that CDRWin works just great with it - if it's got up to date firmware!

You can get a copy of version d4.0 from here, Memorex's site.

Don't forget to read important information concerning possible software conflicts with Nero and Adaptec.

Next, make sure you've got up to date ASPI drivers as well!  (Check here for those).

Also note that Prassi does not work with the Memorex 2216.  Try using a program like CDRWin or Nero instead.

Pick the right media!  Read this to see what other people have to say about what media does and doesn't work well with their Memorex drives...
